Comment: I just read with great interest an entry of another of Noah Foskett's descendants. He was my great-great-grandfather. His son Alfred married Rose Horton and they had my grandfather Alfred John Foskett. Alfred, Rose, and little Alfred emigrated to the US and settled in Wisconsin. My father, who is another Alfred John Foskett, and my three brothers all live there with their children. I live in Colorado, USA.My father has copies of the marriage and birth certificates for Noah, Alfred, and Alfred.

Comment: We have some Fosketts in our family. My mother's great aunt, Charlotte Bates (born in the late 1880's) married into the Foskett family. She had several children, including Edwin and Dennis who emigrated to Australia from London (via Lincolnshire in WW2) in the late 1940's. They settled in Orange, New South Wales. Comment: Sandra, this is a great site. Although not a Foskett descendant I am interested as my Gmother's family, the Mothersoles were related. Alfred Foskett married Catherine Allen in 1873. Her sister Elizabeth married Harry Mothersole in 1873. Harry built a house in High St Berkhamsted c1913 which was shared by some of the family. Arthur Foskett was living there when my mother & her sisters visited in 1988 & was still alive several years ago. Any information would be appreciated. Allen

Comment: Gazette & Courier - Monday, September 20, 1875 Orange - Prescott Foskett, a respected citizen and well-to-do farmer, committed suicide by hanging himself at Orange, Sat. afternoon the 11th. He visited his son's wife, and deposited his spectacles, money, and a few mementos, stating that he was going to put himself out of the way. Upon being asked what was the trouble, he said he had seen trouble enough. His son was immediately informed of his father's intentions, and a search was commenced for him, but after an hour proved unsuccessful; then an alarm was given, and business about the place was generally suspended. After another hour search, the body of Mr. Foskett was found suspended to a tree, about a half a mile from his son's house. The act occasions intense excitement in the vicinity. Domestic troubles are said to have led to the act. He was about 68 years old.

My grandmother was Fanny Ethel Foskett(born 1985).lived in Bognor.She descends via Alfred Foskett(born in Hammersmith), Thomas Foskett, the son of Aaron F and Hannah Knight - both from Grendon Underwood.Moved to London.Aaron may have had two wives, the second being Mary. When Aaron died in 1858, Hannah moved back to Bucks briefly. Her son Thomas, seems to have ended up working in a laundry in St Philips Earls Court. Does anyone know if this was a workhouse or orphanage?

Comment: Dear Sandra The death certificate you suggested for James Snow husband of Emma Foskett wasn't the right one. However I have now found the right one. He died in 1896 and on the census forms he says he is married while his wife Emma is living at a different address and says she is a widow!The family story was that he died in a hunting accident leaving her with young children. She was left with young children but he didn't die till he was 75 and was found dead with a heart attack. Does anyone know anymore about these 2.

Comment: This is great. My maternal grandmother's maiden name was Erna Ruth Foskett. Her father was Dr. Wilson Abner Foskett, from New York. Grandma was from White Bird, Idaho. This is the first website that I have found that concerns the name Foskett, and I think it is great!

Comment: I have just discovered my Gt.Gt.Gt. Grandmother was Jane Hannah Foskett born 6 Feb 1816 in Shoreditch, London who married my Gt.Gt.Gt. Grandfather Henry Macavoy on the 21 September 1835 in Bethnal Green, London. Her name was misinterpreted as Fossett on the records. I have only been able to find one son on the records from that marriage - Charles, who was my Gt.Gt. Grandfather.

Comment: Hi there, Could you please make a correction for Henry Foskett born 16 Mar 1861, Marylebone, England and his wife Emily Melinda Jones married 1890 Napier, New Zealand, they only had one child, a daughter called Maud Elizabeth Foskett born 1891 and died 1892 in Napier, New Zealand. Comment: My name is Valerie Smith. My Grandfather's sister, Charlotte Mary A. Watson, married Thomas Lawrence Foskett in 1899 in the West Ham Reg. District which is where the Watson family were living. Charlotte and Thomas had five children. Unfortunately my grandfather and mother had died before I was born and my mother, their youngest child, died 13 years ago so I have no way of finding out about Charlotte Mary. I know Thomas Lawrence Foskett died in 1948 and is buried in Islington cemetery. His wife Charlotte died in 1930 and unfortunately I cannot find her burial place. I wonder if you have any more information on this branch of the Foskett family? Look forward to hearing from you.

Comment: Hi Sandra My family moved to Australia in 1969 when i was 7. So much information about the family was lost or was embellished it was very difficult to connect the dots. Thanks to yor hard work i have been able to trace the family back to 1390. I am from Luton but my ancestors were from a small area of Buckinghamshire. Comment: Hi Sandra, I came across your website this Christmas Eve when looking with my elderly mum (Winifred Dorothy Foskett nee Feneley) to see whether we could find out about relatives we've lost touch with. I was amazed to find that my family line runs back to the 1400's to Great Horwood. I didn't really know where my grandfather came from as he came to UK from New Zealand at the end of WW1. I am married to Linda R Foskett (nee Dutton) who you have on your list (although I don't appear by name). We have a son Michael Steven born 02/06/94 in Redhill, Surrey. We live in North Holmwood, just outside Dorking, but I originate from Baldock, Hertfordshire where my mum and sister Anne Gillian Foskett still live. Thank you for an amazing journey back in time. I hope to spend more time and maybe visit Great Horwood when I get a chance.

Comment: Hi Sandra. Both my brother, Kevin and myself would love to learn more about our Foskett heritage. Our Dad Cyril Foskett was born 31/12/23 in West Ham and died 1/2/92. We know little else not even our grandmother/grandfathers name.
