The original records are in the Home Office records at the National Archives at Kew. (HO26 and HO27) The criminal registers are a listing of individuals charged with crime at the Assize Courts, sometimes referred to as Sessions, and presided over by a judge. The registers provide information about the charged individual, their trial, and sentence (if convicted) or other outcome.
Please note that petty crimes, tried before magistrates, are not included here
