The Roll of the Great War was originally planned to cover the whole of the United Kingdom, recording details of all who had served in the war both in the services and in a civilian capacity. Entry was by subscription and so not everyone was actually listed. Only 16 volumes were ever produced and 10 FOSKETTs and 1 FORSKITT appear. Those marked with **, I have listed the actual entry below the table.

Section III - London: (West, Central and North London)
FOSKETT, A, Sergeant, RASC(MT)
He volunteered in January 1915, and after his training served at various stations on important duties with his unit. Later he was drafted to Ireland and there served as Sergeant motor-fitter in the workshops on duties that required much skill. He was unable to obtain his transfer to the fighting area owing to medical unfitness, and was demobilised in July 1919. He had previously served throughout the Boer War. 16 Slaidburn Street, King's Road, S.W.10

Section IV - Southampton
FOSKETT H Chief Stoker, R.N
He volunteered in August 1914, and after his training was posted to HMS "Agincourt" which ship was engaged on important duties in the North Sea. He took part in the Battle of Jutland in June 1916, and suffered from shell shock. He was invalided to hospital, and afterwards discharged as medically unfit for further service in March 1917. He holds the 1914-1915 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals.

Section V - Luton
FOSKETT F G Private, Bedfordshire Regiment
Volunteering at the commencement of hostilities, he was sent to Fance early in 1915, and subsequently fought at St Elot, Givenchy, Festubert, Ypres, Loos, the Somme, Arras and Cambrai. On two occasions he was wounded, but after his recovery rejoined his unit and continued his service until hostilities ceased. He was demobilised in March 1919, and holds the 1914-1915 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals.

Section V - Luton
FOSKETT G L/Corporal, Machine Gun Corps
Joining in June 1916, he was soon afterwards sent to the Western Front and fought it many engagements, including those of the Somme, Ypres, Arras and Cambrai. After the cessation of hostilities he advanced into Germany with the Army of Occupation, and on his return to England in February 1919, was demobilised. He holds the General Service and Victory Medals.

Section VII - London: (West, South East and Central London)
FOSKETT A H, Sergt, RHA and RFA
Volunteering in August 1914, he embarked for France in the following November and served throughout the war. He was engaged with his Battery in heavy fighting in various parts of the British line and did valuable service. He was mentioned in Despatches for delivering a message to another battery under great difficulties, and in spite of being thrown from his horse. Discharged on account of service in January 1919, he holds the 1914 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 16 Stonehill Road, Chiswick, W4

Section VII - London: (West, South East and Central London)
FOSKETT A W (MM), Rifleman, King's Royal Rifle Corps
Joining in March 1916, he proceeded to the Western Front in the following year, and was in action in several engagements, including the Battles of Lens and Cambrai. He was awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty in delivering Despatches under heavy fire in spite of wounds. Sent home on account of his injuries in 1917, he remained on home service until his embarkation for India in 1919. In addition to the Military Medal he holds the General Service and Victory Medal and in 1920 was still serving abroad. 43 Cologne Road, Battersea, S.W.11

Section XII - Bedford and Northampton
FORSKITT H, Corporal, 2nd Northants Regt
Volunteering in March 1915, he embarked for the Western Front in the following year and fought in engagements at Armentieres. He was also in action at the Battles of the Somme, Arras, Vimy Ridge, Ypres and Cambrai, and in the Retreat and Advance of 1918. Serving in France until demobilised in March 1919, he holds the General Service and Victory Medals. 87, Perry Street, Northampton.

Section XIII - London: (South East London)
FOSKETT E, Driver, RFA
Volunteering in March 1915, he was drafted to France later in the same year, and did good work as a driver for his Battery in many sectors. He served on the Somme, and at Arras and Ypres, and on October 23rd, 1918 was killed in action in the fierce fighting at Le Cateau during the Advance of that year. He was entitled to the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. "A costly sacrifice upon the altar of freedom" 21 Geldart Road, Peckham, S.E.15

Section XIII - London: (South East London)
FOSKETT H J (MM), By Sergt-Major, RGA
He volunteered in November 1914, and in the following August was drafted to France, where he saw much service. He was in action in many engagements, including those at Loos, the Somme, Beaumont-Hamel, Ypres, Cambrai, and was awarded the Military Medal for distinguished gallantry and devotion to duty at Neuve Chapelle on April 9th 1918. He also holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals and was demobilised in February 1919. 115, Peckham Park Road, Peckham, SE15

Section XIII - London: (South East London)
FOSKETT L, Driver, RFA
Volunteering in May 1915, he was drafted to France later in the same year. Whilst overseas he did excellent work as a driver at Albert, Loos, the Somme, Delville Wood, High Wood, Messines, Bullecourt and Cambrai, and many subsequent operations of the Retreat and Advance of 1918. He holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals and was demobilised in May 1919. 76, Canterbury Road, Peckham, SE15

Section XIII - London: (South East London)
FOSKETT S, Private, 25th London Regt (Cyclists)
He joined in 1917, and after a period of training was drafted to the Western Front in the following year. Whilst overseas he took part in severe fighting in various sectors throughout the German Offensive and Allied Advance of 1918, and returning home after the Armistice was demobilised in 1919, holding the General Service and Victory Medals. 76 Canterbury Road, Peckham, SE15
