Continuous and Uncontrollable Bleeding
Dr H R Oswald held an inquest yesterday at Paddington respecting the death of Frank Arthur Foskett, aged fourteen years, a schoolboy, the son of a bricklayer. The deceased, and two playmates were, it appeared, taking turns to ride in an improvised cart, formed of a box on four wheels, along Edware Road on Thursday, the 18th inst. Awhile Foskett was riding and his companions were pushing the vehicle the deceased pulled a guiding rope, and the cart was thus capsized. Foskett fell out, striking his mouth against the curb. The result was that his upper lip was slightly cut. A doctor attended him. But he expired from syncope following continous haemorrhage from the wound four days afterwards, The doctor said it was impossible to stop the bleeding. The deceased's three brothers had previously died from haemophilia, or continuous and uncontrollable bleeding. Once bleeding began, nothing could be done to save Foskett's life. The jury returned a verdict of "Accidental death".
