Notes for: William George FOSKETT

Enlisted in Royal Navy (J25539) at Chatham 02 Jul 1914 for 12 years, although on 25 Jun 1926 this was extended. He had previously served as a Boy from 10 Jun 1913 on HMS Vivid I, Implacable, Pembroke I and Lord Nelson.
On enlistment he was 5ft 1/2 in tall, 36in chest; Dark red or brown hair; Brown eyes and Fresh Complexion. He has a mole on his right shoulder. When he extended his service he was 5ft 2in with a chest measurementt of 37in.
He joined as an Ordinary Seaman but became an AB within a year and as such served on Lord Nelson; Pembroke II; Woolwich (Urchin); Apollo (Narcus); Apollo (Ambuscade); Gibraltar (Ambusdcade); Vindictive II (Ambuscade); Vindictive I, New Zealand; Pembroke I; Columbine (White Swan). Whilst on this last ship he was promoted to Leading Seaman on 01 May 1921. He further served on Pembroke I; Columbine (Vega); Columbine (Shakespeare); Pembroke I; Benbow; Iron Duke; Pembroke I: Marshal Soul: (Calliope); Pembroke I; Pembroke II (trawler).
He passed his Petty Officer exam 07 Dec 1920 and his Anti-gas Exam 17 Oct 1922.
