Richard appears in the Great Horwood Manor Court Rolls from 1437 when he inherits land from his father until 1446.

John Foxcote who held 2 messuages and 2 virgates of land with appurtenances and 1 toft which he had by surrender of John Giffard in le Wodende has died. Heriot 1 red horse worth 8s 4d, 1 cow with calf worth 6s 8d, 1 heifer with calf worth 6s 8d in the custody of the Prior of Bradwell, ordered that the reeve and claim and recover it with haste. John's son and heir Richard took the toft formerly John Giffard's, Holding to himself and his according to the custom of the manor for the ancient rents and services. Paid entry fine 3s 4d. Fealty. The 2 messuages and 2 virgates of land remain in the lord's hands, the reeve to answer for the issues.

Richard son and heir of John Foxcote took from the lord 1 messuage and 1 virgate of land with appurtenances of which his father died seised according to the custom of the manor as appears in the preceding court, Holding to himself and Agnes his mother and theirs according to the custom of the manor for the ancient rents, works and customs. Paid entry fine 40s, half to be paid at next f S Michael archangel and other half at the same feast the following year, pledged by William Wilkyns. Fealty

Richard Foxcote and Agnes his mother surrendered 1 messuage and 1 virgate of land with appurtenances lately in the tenure of John Foxcote, which the lord by his special grace re-granted to Richard Foxcote and Isabel his wife, Holding to them and the heirs of their bodies legitimately begotten for the ancient rents, works and customs therefrom due and customary. If they die without such heirs then the messuage and land will revert wholly to Richard's mother Agnes forever, Holding to her and hers for the ancient rents, works and customs. Paid fine for such interest 40d, and no more because they paid a larger fine in the preceding court. Fealty. Seisin given by the rod.

No heriot because Thomas Prentys has 1 virgate of land to which the close, which is capit', pertains. Homage say that Alice his daughter is his next heir and is 4 years of age
