Isabel Foscote late wife of Richard Foscote who held by the rod according to the custom of the manor jointly with him 1 messuage, 1 virgate of land and 1 close called Clerkes close with appurtenances has died. No heriot on this occasion according to the custom of the manor. Homage say that Joan Hunkys and Elizabeth Hunkys [struck out: late daughters and heirs] are her blood relatives and next heirs and of full age. Present in court they sought to be admitted to the tenement and land. Homage say further that Elizabeth formally took in marriage Robert Day and Joan [took] Thomas ?Asynden. [struck out: On this came Joan and Elizabeth, Robert Dey and Thomas ?Asynden] After came the said Thomas and Joan and in full court, she examined and confessed alone by the steward, released and quitclaimed all right and claim in the mediety of the land and close to Robert and Elizabeth and their heirs and assigns according to the custom of the manor etc. On this by the lord's grace the land and tenement with appurtenances were granted to Robert and Elizabeth John Hunkys and Isabel his wife Holding to him and Elizabeth [?surely Isabel?] for their lives and that of the longer lived of them, and remainder after the deaths of John Hunkys and Isabel his wife to Robert and Elizabeth and their heirs and assigns forever. [very confused. Why do John Hunkys and Isabel get a life interest?] Paid fine for the interest 16s 8d. Fealty. Admitted as tenants. [The Reeve's Account says the fine was from Robert Dey]
