Barnard was born before Selina married Joseph Coleman. However, I suspect that he was actually Joseph Coleman's son and that the initial C stands for Coleman. (Could be proved by purchasing the birth certificate)
In the 1881 census Barnard is listed with Joseph and Selina Coleman with the name Barnard J F Coleman - in this case the F standing for Foskett?
