In 1874 he sailed for the USA and arrived at New York 27 June 1874 per the "Denmark". From here it appears that he eventually arrived in Tuscola Michigan. By now he was married to Catharine OGGER (1858-1918) daughter of Herman OGGER & Marie BAUM. Their first child was born in Pennsylvania so it could be there that they were married.
In 1880 June 4 they lived at Fairgrove Tuscola Michigan USA.
