The Rochester Daily Democrat reported on 29 Jan 1844 that Shepherd Baker's sawmills were destroyed by fire with great damage and loss.

The Monroe County Historian, Room 230 at 115 South Avenue, Rochester, wrote that she believed the Shepard Baker family lived in the portion of Penfield, Monroe Co, which was separated to become Webster Township in 1840. In a Baker file at the Wayne Co Historian's Office in Lyons, NY there is a mention of a deed in 1836 "from Shepherd and Phebe Baker of Penfield, Monroe Co, to Walter Lasher of property in Walworth."

The Elijah Baker - Abel Wyman home and the Baker (Walworth) Cemetery in Walworth township are about 2.5 miles from the line dividing Wayne and Monroe Counties.

Died between 1855 and 1865.
