Census indicates birth in 1877 but the above date comes from the family.
Dewitt had a livery stable in Moline, IL so they first lived there. When the talk of war became great he sold out and they moved to a farm near Erie and then to a farm near Rock River. Later they bought Sand Farm and after selling that bought a hotel at Seneca, IL which they ran until Tom died in 1961.
