He was a police officer in Somerville, MA for 32 years and the Sterling Police Chief for 1865-68. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart. It is not known whether the earlier children were from his surviving wife or an ealier wife so, the earlier children have been given an "unknown" mother.
