Resided Wauconda, IL, 1895
Jay not only farmed in Wauconda but also operated a butch r shop and later worked as a blacksmith. In November 1915 he and his family moved to Judith Gap, MT. Jay purchased a blacksmith shop from William L. McClellan, and for a time operated the Arrow Oil Company bulk plant. Later he was deputy sheriff for Wheatland County, MT.
