He married his second wife Nellie E Ross on 13 Jan 1898, a young girl friend of one of his daughters, in order to care for her as she was an invalid. His third wife Philinda Malvina Hildreth was a sister of his first wife. They lived for a time in Orange, Ma. with her niece; afterwards at Tolland, Ct. with her brother Samuel W. Hildreth. After the death of Philinda he went back to Allendale, MI to be with his children. Philinda had M/1 William Harrison Montgomery from whom she was divorced.
