Obituary Mr Charles M Fosket

Mr Charles M Fosket was born Dec 9, 1843, on a farm near Palatine, IL, and his boyhood was spent with his parents at that place.

When the call came for volunteers, Mr Fosket answered and on August 11, 1862, when he was 18 years of age, he enlisted in the 133th Illinois Infantry.

He served in the army for three years and on June 20, 1865, he was discharged as a corporal. He returned to his boyhood home, where he lived with his parents for several years. ON January 18, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Ranyard. After their marriage, Mr and Mrs Fosket lived in Arcadia, Wis, for one year. They then moved to Ivanhoe, IL, where they lived for the next 20 years, during which time Mr Fosket ran the local creamery.
He retired from active business in 1908 and into March 1910, moved with his family to Palatine, IL where he resided until his death.
Mr Fosket died at his home on Tuesday evening, January 18, at the age of 82 years. He was a member of the John G Ragan Post No 742, G A R of Libertyville.
Besides his widow Mr Fosket is survived by four sons, Harry of Seattle, Robert of Crystal Lake, Mortimer and Gilbert of Palatine, two grandchildren and one sister Mrs J F Daniels.
The funeral was held at the late residence in Palatine on Friday afternoon, January 22, at 1.30. The burial was in the family lot at the Diamond Lake cemetery.
