He served in the Revolutionary War. He was a housewright by trade and probably built his house on half of his father's homestead in Harvard, 40 acres, which he bought by deed 79-293 (Worcester County) in 1774. This property, now in Boxborough, is on the Turnpike near the present Worcester County line. (House #15 on the 1798 map) He sold this property with about 30 acres of adjoining land in 1801 to Paul Hayward Jr. (Deed 216-22, Middlesex County)

Timothy moved to Groton where he died in 1803. In his Will, dated 22 Oct 1802, Timothy leaves to Phebe his wife one third part of real estate during her natural life also one cow and "all the household furniture that she brought to me, and what hath been made and brought into the family since that time, also the loom and all the tackling belonging to same."

The Will continues - " To my Executor - Other real and personal property for the support of two youngest children, Lavina and Silas Este, until the said Silas shall arrive to age of 10 years. To son Luther - $1.00 his full share in the estate " in consequence of his leaving me before he was 21 years of age. Remainder to be equally divided between other children - Joseph, Levi, Daniel, Silas Este, Dorcas, Elizabeth, Mary and Lavina. I appoint Asa Houghton, Jr. of Harvard, executor."
