Notes for: James HATHAWAY

James enlisted in 1777 and served three years as Sergeant in RI line; lost his discharge when his house burnt down in Danby, VT in 1785. Census records show he had 2 sons and daughters by 1790 and in 1800 2 more daughters. He was first married in Freetown, MA on 3rd Apr 1779 to Mary Dennis and then married Anna Potter in Danby, VT, 07 Feb 1806. He had a son James H Hathaway born in 1810 but no other children of these two wives have been identified.
