School records of Brookline, VT, a town adjacent to Putney, where Alpheus lived, show that Ebenezer Bugbee had two children between the ages of 4 and 18 who attended Brookline schools during the years of 1822 and 1823. Jerusha Bugbee, wife of Ebenezer (sr) and step-mother of Alpheus, sold 50 acres of land in Brookline in 1808. There are no later records of either Alpheus or Ebenezer in Brookline, Putney or Dummerston, VT.
