He died of brain fever. He fitted at Appleton Academy, New Ipswich, NH and graduated from Amherst College in 1843. He was a Colporteur in the service of the American Tract Society in the Mississippi Valley 1843 to 1845. (The Leath Family (Preliminary) by J AShworth, 1977)
