David married first to Hannah Parker. She died and on 02 Jul 1864 an intention of marriage was filed in Sturbridge, MA vital records between David Allard Crouch and Lucy Shaw Wakefield. However a land record was found for David A Crouch of Brimfield dated 15 Aug 1864 where he sold land in Brimfield with his wife Eliza and she released her right of dower to the property. This seemed strange when he was supposed to have married Lucy in the previous month.
A search of the CT Divorces for Tolland Co., produced the following: Elizabeth (Hiscock) Crouch married David A Crouch, Brimfield, MA 02 Jul 1864 and she divorced him in Dec 1865 for intemperance, intolerable cruelty and misconduct. So it seems that he filed a marriage intention with Lucy Shaw Wakefield the same day that he married Elizabeth Hiscock!
From his death record he was supposedly married at the time he died. He died of Typhoid.
