The reason it is believed that Zera is a son of William is because Ansel Crouch, son of Phineas, said he was a cousin of Zerah. Also Nancy Crouch and Bethuel Potter (son-in-law of William Crouch) were executors of Zerah's estate, selling his property on 16 Nov 1860. Zerah's will dated 20 Jul 1855, proved 06 Aug 1855 names his wife Nancy and his children - William, Clarinda, Edward, Emily, Elon and Addison.
