Benjamin learned the trade of blacksmith from Ebenezer Miller who had married Ama Farr, his wife's sister. Benjamin and his wife were in the 1850 and 1860 Census for Dummerston, VT. His second wife Lydia (who he married 30 Mar 1840) and his youngest daughter Clarissa were in the 1870 census for the same place. Lydia was in the 1880 census in Dummerston with Clarissa and her husband David L Mansfield. Lydia Pratt was the daughter of Phineas & Elizabeth (Wharf) Pratt and was born Shutesbury 31 Oct 1798.
