Notes for: Bybie Luke DERRICK
The Levi Felton property in Clarence village was left to the children of Bybie Luke and Statica (Felton) Derrick. It was a stone hotel built before the War of 1812 and was still standing in the 1960's. Bybie was a veteran of the War of 1812. He is recorded in the "1812 Ancestor Index"(p.147) as a Bugler with the N. Y. Militia. It is likely that Bybie and his family lived for a few years at Freedom in Portage Co., Oh., close to the farm of James A. Derthick. In later years Bybie turns up in Wisc. Age 68 years at death.
