Notes for: Eben FOSKETT

Eben was educated in Webster High School and Nichols Academy, Dudley, MA. He learned the printer's trade and for several years was assistant foreman of the Worcester Evening Gazette composing room. While working at this trade he qualified himself to enter the medical school of New York University, from which he graduated MD on 07 May 1895 with honours.

After 2 years service as an intern at Bellevue Hospital he began the practice of his profession in NYC where he remained. In 1905 he was instructor in the diseases of women at the University & Bellevue Hospital Medical School in connection with his extensive surgical practice.

In 1996 New York University Medical Center had an exhibit entitled "100 Years Ago, Eben Foskett, Medical Student, Intern, Physician". Maggie Foskett of Altadena, CA visited the exhibition in Oct 1996 and said it was very impressive and very popular. They were extending the exhibition until March 1997.
