No birth record for Lockhart has been found but there were only two Fosgate families in Winchester at the time: Robert and Joel. As Joel had a son born around the time of Lockhart's birth, it is assumed that Lockhart was a child of Robert.
No record found for any children of Lockhart. The household in the 1860 census shows just Lockhart and Sarah and in 1870 just Sarah is shown.
