Notes for: Gilbert FOSGATE
Gilbert was aged 34 in the 1860 census and 44 in the 1870 census. Fagan's 1858 map of Cheshire Co shows the occupant of the former Thomas Wheelock Sr homestead as G.Fosgate. This is probably Gilbert as his grandfather had died 11 Nov 1853, his father on 03 Jan 1839 and Thomas Wheelock Jr on 25 Feb 1831. The dwelling on the site burned and was replaced by another dwelling which at one time was occupied by a Mr Dick. In 1977 there was no dwelling on the site.
Aged 85 years 5 months and 5 days at death.
