Notes for: Dorothy Rachel FOSGATE

John Sanvborn was from Boston. He was physically abusive to Dorothy. She ran away from him when Dolly was very small and went to her father's place. Johnh found her and burnt the house down. She went back to him and had Emmeline. She left again, went to work for a family in Sudbury Center and met Fred Chamberlain who she married. In Oct 1927 Dorothy put the two girls up for adoption' Fred was supposed to adopt them and was devastated. About a year later Dorothy left Fred although they kept in contact and went away on trips for a few years.

Alice was raised by her father and Grandparents (Chamberlain) in Sudbury, MA. (Alice L Reed, AZ)
