William resided for a time in Fitchburg, MA where he was engaged in the manufacture of chairs. About the year 1870 he returned to Westminster, purchasing the original Samuel Hagen (Wiswall) place. He appears as Clarkson in the 1900 census with his son Walter and Ephraim Loveking.
