After their marriage they moved to Pompey, NY where their eldest child Caroline was born. Later they moved to Hopewell, Ontario Co, NY where their
son Harrison and daughter Caroline purchased a home for them. In 1838 at the date of his father's will he was of Phelps, NY. James & family in Gorham, NY
in 1820, 1830 and 1840.
In 1850 Census West Bloomfield, NY James 68, James M 37, Mary A 27 and Margaret Smith 15 and Julia A Smith 13.
