He took his family first to Hinesburgh, Vt. and then to live on a Crown Grant in Upper Canada. He was a Minuteman and Revolutionary War soldier.
After his death his wife went to live at Phillipsville, Bastard Twp., Leeds Co., Ontario, with her daughter Joanna (Sherman) Belfry.
